The Reunion Committee will meet in Chatham to review
possible venues for the 50th. With luck and hard work, we hope to
have the date and location of this special event. We will also
review a number of ideas for side events; some standard and staid,
others wild and non-conventional. Send your ideas to
committee@chs63.net. We're getting closer!

A Note
about Randy O'Brien from his wife Sharon
Hi All ...
This is Sharon ...I hacked into Randy's email so I could update
those of you who I know care about him. We arrived here at the
Mayo Clinic 4 weeks ago to begin our journey for Randy to be
accepted for liver transplant. Or better yet ..to see if he can
survive such a big surgery.
Well ..two days after we arrived I had to take him to the ER
cause he was in pretty bad shape. It gets complicated, but the
short version is,
the toxins in his body build & affects his brain with something
called hepatic encephalopathy. He gets really confused &
disoriented. He's also lost 100 lbs.
so he's lost most of his muscle strength ..also the disease
doesn't allow his liver to retain protein ..so he is in a
wheelchair ..unable to walk.
He also has something called ascites ..which is fluid collecting
in his abdomen. He's had to have it drained many times now.
Ok ..well they got him back to shape ..but the docs said he
needed to be in a rehab to gain strength cause he's too weak for
any surgery.
Soooooo ..we took him to one a couple of miles away from the
hospital. I am staying in the Marriott attached to Mayo ..so I
pick him up daily to
go to his evaluation appointments.
Well ..five days later ..he was back in the ER. This time he
was comatose ..not responding to anything ..he ended up in ICU
in critical condition &
remained that way for a few days. His bowel was twisted & he
had a really bad urinary tract infection ..and his belly had
developed some kind
of air pockets which the doc said was
really dangerous.
He stayed in ICU for 9 days ..but I'm happy to report ..so far
he's doing OK!! We need to go through many more tests before he
is approved ..or not ..
for transplant ..but should know something by the 15th of May.
Some of you may already have this info ...but I don't think you
all do ..so much is just a guess on my part!! Anyway ..any
questions ..you can email me
shar@cfl.rr.com.
I will try to let you all know what the results are ...thanks
for caring .........Sharon O'Brien

If you
move or change email address or phones, you can click on the Update Info
on the menu to the left or here.
Also, you can
change data on the CHS Reunions site, which is being maintained by the
School District of the Chathams (SDOC).
Two new
features on the side menu. Check out Reunion '13 and Classmate
Websites. More to come on the latter.
Good news. I've renewed the
website hosting and domain
name for another 2 years.
So keep the news and photos coming!
The bad news. I don't have enough new info to publish now.
Fortunately (or unfortunately), I've been so busy at work that I haven't
really had time to work on the site.
Also, I've redone the "missing
email" page to make it easier to figure out.
If you can help find these folks, everyone would truly appreciate it.
Do you have any archival photos.
Contact me.
If I get them, I'll treat them with utmost care. I'll scan, burn a
CD and return the originals and CD to you promptly.
I am always seeking new stuff. Several classmates are looking
through their photo albums and scrapbooks for
old photos, newspaper articles, etc. If you find some old photos, I always prefer
digitized images, but I can accept photos and negatives. I'll
digitize them and return originals to you. Click link to submit
anything "newsy" or fun or poignant or to find out my
snail-mail address.
LINK.
In the meantime,
Enjoy.
